MoS Lekhi Launches ASI Website & Hands Over ‘Adopt a Heritage 2.0’ MoUs

Current Context: On March 12, 2024, the Minister of State for Culture and External Affairs, Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi, unveiled the revamped website of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) at the National Museum.

• The website is designed to cater to the dynamic needs of citizens, offering diverse functionalities and making it easier for users to explore various aspects of India’s rich cultural heritage.
• Alongside the website launch, Smt. Lekhi also handed over the Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for Monuments Adoption under the Adopt a Heritage 2.0 initiative to representatives of corporate houses.
• These MoUs formalize the commitment of these agencies to adopt specific monuments, contributing to their maintenance and better showcasing to the public.
