• National:
• The Department of Public Enterprise (DPE) granted Navratna status to National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) on April 18, 2024. This status provides NFL with greater autonomy and financial powers. NFL can now invest up to Rs1000 crore without prior Central Government approval. The Central Government holds 74.71% of NFL’s total paid up capital.

• Banking:

• India’s outward foreign direct investment (OFDI) declined by 39% to $28.64 billion in FY24 from $46.96 billion in FY23. The equity route contributed $9.62 billion and loan commitments were $5.24 billion in FY24. Overseas guarantees issued were around $14 billion. • A new species of tiger cat, the Clouded Tiger Cat (Leopardus pardinoides), was discovered in the rainforests of Brazil.
