QCI and LUB Signed MoU to Boost MSME Competitiveness

Current Context: The Quality Council of India (QCI) and Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB) have indeed signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) on 2nd April, 2024 in New Delhi.

  • The MoU outlines a roadmap for collaborative initiatives, including awareness programs, camps, and consultations at state and district levels, to facilitate the adoption of lean principles and sustainable practices under the MSME Competitive Lean Scheme (MCLS) among the members of LUB
  • To ensure smooth implementation, a designated nodal officer from each organization will act as a single point of contact for all MCLS-related matters.
  • NABET, one of the Implementing Agency for MCLS, will encourage LUB members to register for the scheme and will provide necessary support in the matter.
  • Jaxay Shah, chairperson of QCI, stated that this partnership signifies a significant step towards fostering operational excellence and sustainability among MSMEs, paving the way for enhanced competitiveness and growth in the global market.
  • Om Prakash Gupta, general secretary of Laghu Udyog Bharati, added that this collaboration is imperative to ensure the optimization of schemes like MCLS.
