MSDE signed a MoU with Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd for the Drone Didi Yojana

Current Context: The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd on 10th May 2024.

• The MoU was signed in Delhi.
• This collaboration is for conducting two Pilot Projects under the Drone Didi Yojana.
• The Drone Didi Yojana aims to train 15,000 women to operate drones for agricultural purposes.
• The two Pilot Projects will be conducted at the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI), situated in Hyderabad and Noida.
• The goal is to skill 500 women in exclusive batches of 20 women each.
• The 15-day curriculum, approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), will be delivered through Remote Pilot Training Organisation (RPTO) instructors at these Centres.
• Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd will soon introduce drone training for women at their skilling centers in Zaheerabad, Telangana, and Nagpur, Maharashtra.
• This partnership represents a first-of-its-kind convergence of women, farming, and technology.
