64th ISO council meeting is being hosted by India from 25 June to 27 June in New Delhi

Current Context: India is hosting the 64th International Sugar Organization (ISO) Council Meeting in New Delhi from June 25th to 27th, 2024.

This global event brings together delegates from over 30 countries and representatives from various international organizations to address critical issues in the sugar and biofuel sectors.
As part of the meeting, India is showcasing its leadership in the sugar sector by organizing an industrial tour of an advanced grain-based distillery in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, on June 24, 2024.
The workshop titled “Sugar and Biofuels – Emerging Vistas” will take place on June 25th, inaugurated by Shri Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and New & Renewable Energy.
This forum aims to discuss the future perspective of the global sugar sector, biofuels, sustainability, and the role of farmers.
Additionally, a cultural program will highlight India’s diverse culture for the delegates.
Committee meetings focusing on administrative and functional aspects of the ISO will be held on June 26th and 27th.
