The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved Zurich Insurance Company’s acquisition of a 70% stake in Kotak Mahindra General Insurance Company for ₹5,560 crore. The approval was received on June 4, 2024.
The board of directors of Punjab National Bank (PNB) has approved the dilution of a 10% stake in Canara HSBC Life Insurance Company. This will be done through an initial public offering (IPO). PNB currently holds a 23% stake in the insurer.

DBS Bank, headquartered in Singapore, announced on May 31, 2024, that it has retained its forecast for India’s GDP growth at 7% for FY24-25. This projection is based on factors such as global growth stability, investments in public and household capex, rural recovery, a normal monsoon, and improved trade composition.

On World Environment Day, June 5, 2024, the Secretary of MeitY, Shri S Krishnan, inaugurated the Indigenous Air Quality Monitoring System (AQ-AIMS) and launched the Air-Pravah App. The AQ-AIMS is a cost-effective solution for monitoring various air parameters, and the Air-Pravah App provides real-time Air Quality Index (AQI) monitoring.
