Current Context: The Indian Air Force (IAF) contingent arrived at the Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska, United States, on Thursday, May 30, 2024, to participate in the multinational exercise, Red Flag 24.

  • This two-week advanced aerial combat training exercise aims to integrate aircrew in a multinational environment and is designed to replicate a realistic and challenging environment.
  • The IAF sent a contingent with eight Rafale fighter jets.
  • Other key participants included the Royal Air Force (RAF), the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), the U.S. Air Force (USAF), the Royal Netherlands Air Force, and the Multinational Multirole Tanker Transport Unit (MMU).
  • Over 3000 people from the US, UK, and Australia were also involved in the exercise.
