‘Mukhya Mantri Nijut Moina’ Scheme has been launched by the Assam government
  • It aims to empower girls and prevent child marriages by providing financial support and educational opportunities.
  • The scheme targets around 10 lakh girls in government institutions and has a budget allocation of Rs 240 crore.
  • Girls enrolled in higher secondary first year will receive Rs. 1,000 monthly for 10 months per year, with increased assistance for those pursuing degree courses.
