Current Context: On July 16, 2024, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) in India announced the merger of three entities:
DoT’s NTIPRIT, NICF and WMTDC merged into single entity named ‘National Communications Academy
  • National Telecommunication Institute for Policy Research, Innovation, and Training (NTIPRIT)
  • National Institute for Communication Finance (NICF)
  • Wireless Monitoring Training and Development Centre (WMTDC)
  • These three entities have been consolidated into a single entity called the ‘National Communications Academy.’
  • The newly formed academy will be headed by the Secretary (Telecommunications).
