Current Context: On August 1, 2024, Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Pralhad Venkatesh Joshi, launched Version 4.0 of the Price Monitoring System (PMS) mobile app in New Delhi.

• This updated version expands the coverage to include 16 additional commodities, bringing the total to 38 commodities monitored across 550 centers in 34 states and union territories.
• The PMS provides advance inputs for policy decisions related to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation, benefiting the government, RBI, and analysts.
