Best Tourism Villages Competition-2024 Winner Revealed By Ministry

Current Context: The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, announced the winners of the Best Tourism Villages Competition 2024 on September 27, 2024, coinciding with World Tourism Day.

• This competition aims to promote tourism in India’s villages by recognizing those that preserve and promote cultural and natural assets through community-based values and sustainability.
• A total of 36 villages were recognized across 8 categories. 
• Here are some of the winners:
• Adventure Tourism: Dhudmaras (Chhattisgarh), Aru (Jammu & Kashmir), Kuthlur (Karnataka), Jakhol (Uttarakhand)
• Agri Tourism: Kumarakom (Kerala), Karde (Maharashtra), Hansali (Punjab), Supi (Uttarakhand), Baranagar (West Bengal)
• Community-Based Tourism: Chitrakote (Chhattisgarh), Minicoy Island (Lakshadweep), Sialsuk (Mizoram), Deomali (Rajasthan), Alpana Gram (Tripura)
• Craft: Sualkuchi (Assam), Pranpur (Madhya Pradesh), Umden (Meghalaya), Maniabandha (Odisha), Nirmal (Telangana)
