Current Context: On 30th September 2024, The Cruise Bharat Mission was launched by Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal from the Mumbai port. This initiative aims to significantly boost cruise tourism in India by doubling the number of cruise passengers within the next five years.

• The mission will be implemented in three phases:
• Phase 1 (Oct 2024 - Sep 2025): Focuses on studies, master planning, and forming cruise alliances with neighboring countries. It will also modernize existing cruise terminals and marinas.
