BIMSTEC Youth Summit 2025

Current Context: The BIMSTEC Youth Summit 2025 took place from February 7 to 11, 2025, in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. 

• It was jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and the Ministry of External Affairs, with the Confederation of Indian Industry's Young Indians (CII YI) as the knowledge partner.
• The summit was inaugurated by Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports Mansukh Mandaviya, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports Raksha Khadse, and Secretary (East) of the Ministry of External Affairs Jaideep Mazumdar.
• The theme of the summit was "Youth as a Bridge for Intra-BIMSTEC Exchange". 
• The summit aimed to foster regional cooperation and empower youth to tackle regional challenges and contribute to sustainable development.
• Some highlights of the summit include:
• Discussions on entrepreneurship, digital connectivity, cybersecurity, sustainable development, and technological advancements.
• Sessions on cultural exchange, youth entrepreneurship development, and strategic issues empowering youth.
• Participation of over 70 youth delegates from the seven BIMSTEC member countries: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
• Visits to key cultural and modern landmarks, including Dandi Kutir, Sabarmati Ashram, and GIFT City.
