Key infrastructure projects reviewed in the 95th PM Gatishakti NPG meeting

Current Context: The 95th meeting of the Network Planning Group (NPG) under PM GatiShakti was held on June 13, 2025 in New Delhi, to evaluate five key infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing multimodal connectivity and logistics efficiency.

Key Highlights:

Ahmedabad Metro Rail Extension (Phase-2A) – A 6.032 km metro extension connecting Koteshwar Metro Station to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, improving urban mobility and airport access.
8-Lane Highway for Vadhavan Port Connectivity – A high-speed access-controlled highway along NH-248S, linking the upcoming Vadhavan Port in Maharashtra to major trade corridors.
Jodhpur Elevated Corridor – A 7.63 km, 4-lane elevated road from Mahamandir to Akhaliya Chouraha, designed to reduce congestion and travel time in Jodhpur city.
Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) Hyderabad – A 315-acre logistics hub in Parkibanda, Telangana, projected to handle 19.98 million metric tonnes (MMT) of cargo by 2070.
Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) Patna – A 106-acre facility in Jaitiya, Bihar, expected to support 5.43 MMT of cargo annually by 2071, strengthening Eastern India’s trade connectivity.
