National:
  • The TALASH initiative (Tribal Aptitude, Life Skills and Self-Esteem Hub) was launched in July 2025 by NESTS under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, in partnership with UNICEF India.   • On July 11, 2025, the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) launched India’s first incentive scheme for electric trucks under the PM E-DRIVE initiative. It offers up to ₹9.6 lakh upfront discount per truck (N2 & N3 categories) with a required diesel scrapping certificate. Backed by ₹100 crore for Delhi and supporting 5,600 trucks nationwide, the scheme promotes clean freight mobility in sectors like steel, cement, and ports, aligning with India’s net-zero 2070 goal.
  • The Delhi Government announced Saheli Smart Cards on 8 July 2025, offering free bus travel to women and transgender residents aged 12+ on DTC and Cluster buses. Issued under the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) framework, the card replaces the pink ticket system with a secure, digital pass.
  • On 13 July 2025, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya led the 31st Fit India Sundays on Cycle in Gandhinagar, joined by 500+ cyclists. Held across 7000+ locations, the event promoted “Fitness Ki Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz” with support from 3000 cycling clubs and PSUs.   • On July 12, 2025, France signed a pact with New Caledonia to form a “State of New Caledonia” within the Republic. Banking:
  • In 10 years, India’s gross direct tax collections rose 274% to ₹27.03 lakh crore, while income tax refunds surged 474% to ₹4.77 lakh crore. Refund processing time dropped from 93 days to 17 days, thanks to digital reforms like faceless assessments and automated systems. The taxpayer base expanded 133%, with ITR filings rising from 3.8 crore to 8.89 crore.

  • On July 12, 2025, the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) announced the discovery of four new species of microscopic parasitic wasps—Idris bianor, Idris furvus, Idris hyllus, and Idris longiscapus—in West Bengal. Led by Dr. K Rajmohana (ZSI Kolkata) and Dr. K P Dinesh (ZSI Pune), the study involved morphological and DNA barcoding techniques.

  • On 11 July 2025, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Air Force (IAF) successfully flight-tested the indigenous Astra Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile (BVRAAM) from a Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter jet off the coast of Odisha.

  • The Trade Facilitation Conference 2025 was held on 11–12 July at (Indian Council of Agricultural Research – National Agricultural Science Centre), New Delhi, themed “Scientific Excellence for Seamless Trade”. Organised by CRCL under CBIC, it was inaugurated by MoS Finance Shri Pankaj Chaudhary and attended by 400+ delegates, including FSSAI and CDSCO. Govt. Schemes:
  • On July 11, 2025, the Sanchar Mitra Scheme was launched nationwide by the Department of Telecommunications. Appointments:
  • On July 11, 2025, Dr Abhijat Sheth, renowned Cardiothoracic Surgeon and President of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), was appointed as Chairperson of the National Medical Commission (NMC).
  • On July 14, 2025, the Government of India appointed R Doraiswamy as the new Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). He will serve till August 28, 2028, or until he turns 62, whichever is earlier.
