Current Context: On July 11, 2025, the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) released its 2024 Economic Impact Trends Report, ranking the Top 10 Global Tourism Economies.

Top 3 Rankings

• United States – $2,360 billion
• China – $1,300 billion
• Germany – $487.6 billion

India’s Milestone

• India climbed to 8th place with a tourism contribution of $231.6 billion, up from 10th in 2023
• WTTC forecasts India will rise to 4th position by 2034, driven by its 42 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, diverse landscapes, and growing middle class
