37th National Conference on Sustainable Steel 2025

Current Context: The 37th National Conference on Sustainable Steel was held on 19–20 September 2025 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, Maharashtra.

• It was organised by the All India Induction Furnaces Association (AIIFA) Sustainable Steel Manufacturers Association and the Steel Manufacturers Association of Maharashtra (SMAM), with support from the Ministry of Steel (MoS), Government of India and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
• It was chaired by Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
• Theme: Green Steel and Sustainable Industrial Growth – One Industry, One Destination.
• Aim: Promote green steel adoption, integrate renewable energy & hydrogen, and align with the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM).
• Highlights: Launch of Green Certificate, signing of 9 MoUs worth ₹80,962 crore, creation of 40,000+ jobs, Maharashtra’s Green Hydrogen Policy, Pune Hydrogen Valley, and Gadchiroli’s development as a Steel City.
