International:
  • On September 3, 2025, China unveiled the JL-1 (Jinglei-1) air-launched ballistic missile during its Victory Day parade in Beijing. The nuclear-capable JL-1, launched from the H-6N strategic bomber, has a range of 3,000–4,000 km. It marks China’s first public display of its air-based leg of the nuclear triad. The JL-1 enhances China’s second-strike capability without entering hostile airspace.

  • On September 5, 2025, Dassault Aviation increased its stake in Dassault Reliance Aerospace Limited (DRAL) from 49% to 51%, investing ₹175.96 crore. DRAL, now a Dassault subsidiary, will host the first Falcon jet Final Assembly Line (FAL) outside France at its Nagpur facility. The 2% stake was acquired from Reliance Aerostructure Limited (RAL), marking a strategic shift in ownership.
  • On September 4, 2025, Amazon acquired fintech lender Axio for USD 200 million. Axio becomes a wholly owned NBFC subsidiary under Amazon, expanding its digital lending footprint. The aim is to enhance transparency, efficiency, and digital public finance infrastructure across Odisha.
  • On September 5, 2025, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) signed an MoU in New Delhi with Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies, Singapore. The aim is to develop hydrogen fuel cell-based rolling stock for Indian Railways, replacing diesel with zero-emission propulsion systems. Horizon will supply 400kW fuel cell stacks, while BHEL integrates them with its electric locomotive platforms.

The Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) dropped to 25, and Total Fertility Rate (TFR) fell to 1.9, below replacement level. Bihar recorded the highest birth rate (25.8), while Chhattisgarh had the highest death rate (8.3).
  • On September 4, 2025, NITI Aayog released the report “Strategies and Pathways for Accelerating Growth in Pulses towards the Goal of Atmanirbharta”. It aims to boost domestic pulses production through crop-wise clustering, customised technologies, and seed hubs like One Block–One Seed Village. The plan targets 111 high-potential districts, supports rain-fed farming, and promotes herbicide-tolerant, machine-harvestable varieties.
