Current Context: The 3rd Asian Youth Games 2025 were held in Bahrain from October 22–31, 2025, organised by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).

  • The Games featured 4,074 athletes from 45 nations, competing in 264 events across 26 sports.
  • India’s boxing team excelled, winning 4 Gold, 2 Silver, and 1 Bronze, topping the Girls’ Boxing section.
  • Gold winners included Khushi Chand (46kg), Ahaana Sharma (50kg), Chandrika Bhoreshi Pujari (54kg), and Anshika (+80kg).
  • Silvers were won by Harnoor Kaur (66kg) and one more in girls’ boxing, while
  • Anant Deshmukh (66kg boys) secured bronze.
  • Indian weightlifter Priteesmita Bhoi (Weightlifting, 44 kg category) set a Youth World Record by lifting 92 kg in clean & jerk, winning Gold, along with a Silver in snatch (66 kg).
  • In athletics, India secured medals with stars like Neeraj Chopra (javelin) and Jyothi Yarraji (100m hurdles) shining.
  • In hockey, the women’s team won the Asian Champions Trophy, while the men’s team finished runners‑up in the Asia Cup.
  • P.V. Sindhu and Lakshya Sen claimed badminton titles, and Mirabai Chanu struck Gold in weightlifting.
