  • On 4 Oct 2025, FM Nirmala Sitharaman launched the nationwide “Aapki Punji, Aapka Adhikar” campaign in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The 3‑month drive will help citizens claim unclaimed deposits, insurance, dividends, shares, and mutual funds. It is coordinated by DFS, RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, and IEPFA to ensure rightful money reaches citizens.

  • On 6 Oct 2025, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal flagged off the VLGC vessel Shivalik at Visakhapatnam Port. The ship, acquired by SCI on 10 Sept 2025, unloaded its maiden LPG consignment. It marks a milestone in India’s gas logistics and maritime growth, aligned with Atmanirbhar Bharat.
  • On 6 October 2025, the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation (DDWS), Ministry of Jal Shakti, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo‑informatics (BISAG‑N) to strengthen digital monitoring of rural water and sanitation schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen).
  • On 6 October 2025, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya launched the Sardar@150 Unity March in New Delhi to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The nationwide campaign, led by MY Bharat, aims to inspire unity, patriotism, and civic responsibility among youth while celebrating Patel’s legacy as the “Iron Man of India.”

  • On 5 Oct 2025, the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) signed an MoU with the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Naya Raipur in New Delhi. The pact focuses on Open Radio Access Network (Open RAN), Fifth Generation (5G), Sixth Generation (6G), and Internet of Things (IoT). It aims to build India‑specific standards, test frameworks, and spectrum solutions aligned with World Radiocommunication Conference 2027 (WRC‑27).

  • World Cotton Day 2025 was observed on 7 Oct with the global theme “The Fabric of Our Lives” at FAO HQ, Rome. In India, it was marked in New Delhi with the theme “Cotton 2040: Technology, Climate & Competitiveness.” The day highlights cotton’s role in trade, livelihoods, and sustainability, benefiting 100M families worldwide. India, the largest cotton producer, cultivates 40% of global area and drives its textile economy.

  • On 7 October 2025, Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, Indian Air Force (IAF) Test Pilot and India’s first astronaut to the International Space Station (ISS), was appointed Brand Ambassador of the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025. The initiative is organised by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog, and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
  • On 6 Oct 2025, JPMorgan Chase & Co. appointed Conor Hillery and Matthieu Wiltz as Co‑Chief Executive Officers (Co‑CEOs) for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). They succeeded Filippo Gori, who moved to New York as Co‑Head of Global Banking. Hillery (London) leads Investment Banking, while Wiltz (France) heads Sales.

  • On 3 October 2025, Indian peacekeepers serving with the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) were honoured with UN medals for their dedicated service and professionalism in the disputed Abyei region between Sudan and South Sudan.
