India’s GIFT City climbs 3 places to 43rd in 38th GFCI rankings, New York Tops

Current Context: The 38th Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI 38) was released on 11 October 2025.
It was jointly published by the Z/Yen Group (London) and the China Development Institute (Shenzhen).

• India’s GIFT City climbed 3 places to 43rd rank, improving its FinTech ranking to 35th.
• GIFT City remains the only Indian financial centre in the global index and is among the Top 15 in Asia-Pacific.
• New York retained the top spot, followed by London (2nd) and Hong Kong (3rd).
• Singapore (4th) and San Francisco (5th) completed the global top five.
• GIFT City was also listed among the 15 centres likely to become more significant globally, reflecting India’s rising financial stature.
