National:
  • On 26 November 2025, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved Pune Metro Phase-2 and 224-km railway multitracking projects. The metro expansion will cover 31.64 km with 28 stations at a cost of ₹9,857.85 crore, connecting key IT hubs, residential areas, and commercial zones in Pune. The railway projects, worth ₹2,781 crore, include doubling of the Okha–Kanalus line and adding 3rd & 4th lines on the Badlapur–Karjat route.
  • On 25 November 2025, Union Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Annapurna Devi launched the ‘Nayi Chetna 4.0’ campaign in New Delhi. Organized under DAY-NRLM (Ministry of Rural Development), it runs till 23 December 2025. The campaign focuses on gender equality, women’s empowerment, and combating gender-based violence.
  • On 24 Nov 2025, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and MoS Jayant Chaudhary inaugurated a Skill India Centre in Baraut, Baghpat (UP). The centre is located at Ch. Kehar Singh Divya Public School. Implemented by NSDC with Redington Foundation, it will train 600 rural youth and women. Focus: Electronics, IT, and ITeS skills under the Skill India Mission
  • On 25 November 2025, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) cleared three major deals. These included the acquisition of Toyota Industries Corporation (TIC) by Toyota Asset Preparatory Co. Ltd.. It also approved Jindal Jhajjar Power Ltd. acquiring Jhajjar Power Ltd.. Additionally, ICICI Prudential AMC took over certain businesses of ICICI Venture Funds Management Co. Ltd., boosting consolidation in key sectors.
  • On 27 November 2025, the Supreme Court of India urged the Centre to frame a stricter law against derogatory remarks on persons with disabilities. The bench of CJI Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi suggested a statute similar to the SC/ST Act, 1989, making insults a punishable offence. The case arose from derogatory jokes by comedian Samay Raina and others, highlighting the need for legal deterrence.
  • On 26 November 2025, Prime Minister Nareandra Modi inaugurated the Safran Aircraft Engine Services India Facility in Hyderabad, Telangana. The facility, set up by Safran Group (France), will provide Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) services for aircraft engines. It aims to boost Make in India in aerospace and strengthen India’s aviation ecosystem.
International:
  • On 26 November 2025 (Constitution Day), a bust of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was unveiled at UNESCO Headquarters, Paris. It was inaugurated by India’s Ambassador to UNESCO Vishal V. Sharma in the presence of UNESCO officials. The plaque read: “Architect of the Indian Constitution – 70 Years (1950–2025).” This marked a historic global tribute to Ambedkar’s legacy of democracy, equality, and social justice.
Banking:
  • On 26 November 2025, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) granted approval to Paytm Payments Services Limited (PPSL). It authorized PPSL to function as a Payment Aggregator (PA) under the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007. This lifted earlier restrictions on onboarding new merchants imposed in November 2022.
  • BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) launched the ‘Full Delegation’ feature under UPI Circle on November 25, 2025, allowing primary users to authorize up to five secondary users for UPI payments. Each secondary user can transact independently with a ₹15,000 monthly limit, valid for up to five years. The feature removes the need for real-time approval, making digital payments easier for families, dependents, and small businesses.
MoUs:
  • On 27 November 2025, the Centre for Development of Telematics (C‑DOT) signed an MoU with the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) at its campus in Uttarakhand. The agreement aims to establish a Centre of Excellence (CoE) dedicated to advancing indigenous research in wireless communication, quantum technologies, cybersecurity, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Sports:
  • Asian Paints signed a 3‑year partnership with the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India). The deal makes it the Official Colour Partner for 110 home matches across formats. Valued at around ₹45 crore, it boosts brand presence in stadiums and fan engagement. It aligns with Asian Paints’ “Har Ghar Connect” strategy, linking cricket with colour and culture.
Summits & Conferences:
  • The Chanakya Defence Dialogue 2025 was hosted by the Indian Army with Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS) on 27–28 November at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi. Its theme was “Reform to Transform: Sashakt, Surakshit aur Viksit Bharat”. President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the event, while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh delivered the concluding address. The dialogue focused on security challenges, defence reforms, technology, and India’s vision for Viksit Bharat @2047.
Defence:
  • On 26 November 2025, Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd. signed a Technology Transfer (ToT) agreement with DRDO. The deal is for the Driver Night Sight (DNS) system used in India’s frontline T‑90 tanks. Aim: To enable indigenous manufacturing of advanced night‑vision technology for defence applications.
Military Exercises:
  • The 8th India–France Bilateral Air Exercise ‘Garuda-25’ was held from 12–27 November 2025 at Air Base 118, Mont-de-Marsan, France. It involved the Indian Air Force (IAF) with Su-30MKI, IL-78, and C-17 aircraft and the French Air and Space Force (FASF) with Rafale and Mirage 2000. Over 500 airmen and 25 aircraft participated in joint missions, strike drills, and air-to-air refuelling.

  • World Sustainable Transport Day was observed on 26 November 2025, declared by the United Nations. It highlights the role of safe, affordable, and eco-friendly transport systems in achieving the SDGs. The day promotes public transport, cycling, walking, and electric mobility to cut emissions. It stresses global cooperation for inclusive, resilient, and sustainable mobility worldwide.

  • On 28 November 2025, Temasek Holdings appointed former DBS Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Piyush Gupta as its India Chairman. His role, effective 1 December 2025, is in a non‑executive advisory capacity. He will work with Ravi Lambah to shape investment strategies and support portfolio companies in India.
  • On 25 November 2025, Sipan Kumar Garg, Director (Finance) of THDC India Limited, took additional charge as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD). The post fell vacant after the demise of CMD R.K. Vishnoi on 15 November 2025. Garg also holds additional charge as Director (Finance) of SJVN Ltd from 1 September 2025.
  • On 24 November 2025, the World Bank Group appointed Paschal Donohoe as Managing Director (MD) and Chief Knowledge Officer (CKO). He is Ireland’s Minister for Finance and former President of the Eurogroup (2020–2023). His role focuses on leading the Bank’s Knowledge Bank agenda, global research, and policy advice.
Awards & Honours:
  • On 28 Nov 2025, at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI 2025) in Goa, the International Council for Film, Television and Audiovisual Communication (ICFT) in collaboration with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) presented the prestigious Gandhi Medal. The honour was awarded to the Norwegian film Safe House. The award recognizes cinematic excellence promoting peace, non‑violence, tolerance, and intercultural dialogue.
Obituaries:
  • Legendary Bharatanatyam dancer Kumari Kamala (Baby Kamala) passed away in California on 25 November 2025 at the age of 91. A child prodigy, she trained under Vazhuvoor Ramaiah Pillai and became a global icon of Bharatanatyam. She acted in Tamil and Hindi films and later taught dance in the United States.
