  • On 4 December 2025, Vrutti partnered with HSBC India to launch the financing facility ‘FPO Shakti’. This blended, stage‑based model aims to provide timely capital support to Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs). Managed by Friends of Women’s World Banking (FWWB) India, it bridges the credit gap faced by most FPOs.

  • On 4 December 2025, Nokia partnered with Bharti Airtel to open 5G network APIs for developers and enterprises. Using Nokia’s Network as Code platform, Airtel’s pan‑India 5G capabilities were made accessible. This aims to drive innovation, automation, and monetization of digital services across industries.
  • On 3 December 2025, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) was recognised among the Global Top 100 Corporate Startup Stars (CSS) 2025, released by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Mind the Bridge at Paris. BPCL is the only Indian organisation to feature in this prestigious global list. The recognition highlights BPCL’s strong commitment to open innovation and collaboration with startups.
  • On 4 December 2025, the NeGD and MEA enabled Passport Verification Records (PVR) on DigiLocker. This integration allows citizens to securely access, store, and share passport verification digitally. It supports Digital India’s paperless and contactless service delivery, reducing reliance on physical records.
Economy:
  • Fitch Ratings has revised India’s GDP growth forecast for FY26 to 7.4% from 6.9%, reflecting stronger consumer spending and the positive impact of GST reforms. The economy showed robust momentum with Q2 FY26 growth at 8.2%, the highest in six quarters. Falling inflation is expected to give the RBI space for further rate cuts, supporting demand.
MoUs:
  • On 6 December 2025 at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT Kanpur to strengthen cybersecurity and promote digital innovation in mining operations. It also aims to build real‑time threat detection and incident response systems while enhancing industry–academia knowledge sharing.
  • On 4 December 2025, NPCI International and ACLEDA Bank Plc. signed an MoU in New Delhi. Its aim was to enable interoperability between India’s UPI and Cambodia’s KHQR systems. The initiative allows secure, instant, and low-cost cross-border QR payments for tourists and businesses.

Sports:
  • On 6 December 2025, Sarwagya Singh Kushwaha, a 3-year-old from Madhya Pradesh, became the world’s youngest FIDE-rated chess player. At 3 years, 7 months, and 20 days, he debuted with a rapid rating of 1572, surpassing the minimum 1400 requirement. He achieved this by defeating multiple rated opponents in official events.
  • On 3 December 2025, Indian fast bowler Mohit Sharma retired from all forms of cricket. He played 26 ODIs and 8 T20Is, taking 41 international wickets, and was part of the 2015 World Cup squad. In the IPL, he featured in 120 matches, claiming 134 wickets for multiple franchises.

  • On 3 December 2025, Jindal Stainless was ranked in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) CSA 2025, released by S&P Global. The company secured a place among the top 5% globally, achieving an impressive ESG score of 78. It stood 4th in the global steel sector and 1st in the stainless steel sector, outperforming industry averages.
  • The foundation stone of Australia’s Victoria University India Campus was laid in Gurugram, Haryana, on December 4–5, 2025. This marks the university’s first international campus in India, set to open by mid-2026, offering programs in business, IT, and research, and introducing the innovative VU Block Model for the first time in India.
