  • On February 7, 2026, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated Zetwerk Electronics’ new manufacturing facility in Bengaluru. The plant, built with an investment of ₹100 crore, spans 100,000 sq. ft. and will employ around 1,200 professionals. Equipped with advanced SMT and FATP lines, it will cater to defence, aerospace, automotive, and IT hardware sectors.

  • On February 8, 2026, Union MoS Dr. Jitendra Singh and AP CM N. Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone for India’s first Quantum Valley in Amaravati. The project is part of the ₹6,000‑crore National Quantum Mission, aiming for 1,000‑qubit quantum computers and a 2,000‑km secure quantum network.
  • Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched the Pulse Self‑Reliance Mission on 7 February 2026 in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh. The mission aims to make India self‑reliant in pulses, cutting imports and boosting exports. It focuses on production, productivity, processing, and value addition. Support will strengthen FPOs and seed supply chains for farmer welfare and food security.

  • On February 7, 2026, Transcorp International Limited received the RBI’s in‑principle approval to join the Centralized Payment Systems (CPS). This allows the company to access RTGS (Real‑Time Gross Settlement) and NEFT (National Electronic Funds Transfer) facilities. It can now hold a bank account with RBI and obtain its own IFSC code.

  • The Ministry of Steel signed MoUs for 85 new specialty steel projects in New Delhi on 9 February 2026. Aim: To boost India’s specialty steel ecosystem under the PLI Scheme 1.2 and support Make in India. Highlights: Signed with 55 companies, with an investment of ₹11,887 crore.

  • Two new marine worm species, Namalycastis solenotognatha and Nereis dhritiae, were discovered in the Bay of Bengal ecosystem near Digha and Bankiput, West Bengal. The discovery was announced by the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) on February 6, 2026, in collaboration with international experts.

  • On 9 February 2026, Minister of State for Electronics and IT Jitin Prasada inaugurated the STQC Lab Automation Portal (SATYA). The portal unifies all testing and certification services on a digital platform to ensure quality, security, and reliability of electronic and IT products.
