National Conference on Women’s Workplace Safety (SHe‑Box) 2026

Current Context: On 14 February 2026, the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) organized the National Conference on Safety of Women at Workplace (SHe‑Box) at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

• It was inaugurated by Union Minister Smt. Annpurna Devi and presided over by Minister of State Smt. Savitri Thakur.
• The theme was “Safe Workplaces as Drivers of Viksit Bharat through Equality and Economic Participation of Women,” with the aim of strengthening the PoSH Act, 2013 and scaling up the revamped SHe‑Box portal.

• A National Workplace Safety Pledge was administered to nearly 1,500 physical participants and 40,000 virtual attendees.
• The Ministry also shared that over 1.5 lakh workplaces are now onboarded on the portal, with female labor force participation rising from 23% to about 42% in six years.
• This marked a shift from “paper compliance” to a digital‑first, zero‑tolerance culture of workplace safety.
