Hurun Global Rich List 2026: India ranks third with 308 billionaires

Current Context: The Hurun Global Rich List 2026, released by Hurun Research Institute on 5 March, recorded 4,020 billionaires worldwide, crossing the 4,000 mark for the first time.

India added 24 new billionaires this year, with a combined wealth of about ₹112 lakh crore.

A highlight was Shah Rukh Khan’s entry into the list with $1.3 billion, making him India’s first Bollywood billionaire.
Globally, 726 new entrants were added, with China leading in fresh wealth creation.
The report noted that two new billionaires were created every day in 2025, a record pace.
