Current Context: On 17 June 2026, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved new appointments to the National Statistical Commission (NSC).

• Chairperson: Dr. Saibal Chattopadhyay, ex‑Director of IIM Calcutta, Ph.D./MS in Statistics (University of Connecticut), expert in sequential methods, survey sampling, finite population inference, and quantitative marketing research.
