Sangeet Natak Akademi Elects 7 Eminent Artists as Fellows

Current Context: On June 10, 2026, the Sangeet Natak Akademi (National Academy of Music, Dance and Drama) announced its highest honours.

• The General Council (March 22–26, 2026) unanimously elected 7 eminent personalities as Akademi Fellows (Akademi Ratna) for 2024–25.
• Fellows → Ramlal Bareth, A.V. Anand (Carnatic music), Rita Ganguly, Puru Dadheech (Kathak), Chittaranjan Jyotishi (vocalist), Pasumarthi Rattaiah Sarma, Sudharani Raghupathy.
• The Akademi Fellowship is the highest lifetime achievement honour in performing arts.
• Additionally, 108 artists were selected for the Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards (Akademi Puraskar) across Music, Dance, Theatre, Folk/Tribal forms, Puppetry, etc.
• Further, 106 young artists were honoured with the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for 2024–25.
