DPIIT Signs MoUs with Industry Leaders to Strengthen Startup Ecosystem

Current Context: On 8 August 2026, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced a series of strategic MoUs with five industry and startup-ecosystem partners.

DPIIT Signs MoUs with Industry Leaders to Strengthen Startup Ecosystem

DPIIT signed/entered partnerships with:

  • Cashfree Payments India Private Limited
  • Darwin Dynamics LLP
  • Vultr India Private Limited
  • Cars24 Services Private Limited
  • Council for Startup India (CSI)

Purpose of the MoUs

  • Cashfree Payments: To provide startups with digital payment and payout solutions, identity verification, risk management, KYC support and fintech capacity building.
  • Darwin Dynamics: To promote entrepreneurship, particularly in Tier-II, Tier-III and rural regions, and support sectors such as clean energy, green hydrogen, AI, climate technology and advanced manufacturing.
  • Vultr India: To provide eligible startups with cloud credits, preferential pricing, technical support and training in areas such as cloud computing, databases, Kubernetes and networking.
  • Cars24: To encourage startup innovation in mobility, automobile technology and artificial intelligence, along with founder mentoring, skilling, hackathons and investment opportunities.
  • Council for Startup India: To improve startups' access to investment, mentorship, corporate partnerships, governance support, global markets and international collaborations.
  • The partnerships are intended to strengthen the Startup India ecosystem by connecting DPIIT-recognised startups with private-sector expertise, technology, capital, mentors and market opportunities. They are also expected to help startups scale sustainably and become more globally competitive
