  • Allows certification through manual, digital or electronic signatures.
  • Properly certified copies can be admitted as evidence without requiring original bank records.
  • A court must record a special reason before summoning bank officials when the bank is not a party to the case.
  • The Central Government can extend its provisions to specified financial-sector entities.
  • It aims to simplify legal procedures, reduce uncertainty and align evidence rules with modern banking technology.
