On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, on September 14, 2017 President Ram Nath Kovind has launched a new 'LILA Mobile App'.
- The app can be downloaded from Google play store and this is developed to understand Hindi easily.
- The app was launched in the ceremony , during which the President presented Rajbasha awards.
- September 14 is celebrated as Hindi Day because Hindi language was first adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India as the official language of the Republic of India on September 14, 1949.
- The decision of using Hindi language as an official language of India was legalized by the Constitution of India on January 26, 1950.
