Dharmendra Pradhan had laid the foundation stone of Odisha’s first PNG supply in Bhubaneswar.
- This PNG supply project is deemed as an integral part of ‘Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga’ pipeline project,
- This project was completed way ahead of it's stipulated time.
- In the first phase of this project, PNG supply to 255 houses had been commenced
- Ultimate objective of this project is to provide one crore PNG connections in the state on or before 2020
- The supply of PNG to limited households was done ahead of its schedule in March 2018.
- PMUG will pass through five states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal.
- The longest stretch of the project, which is about 769km, will be built in Odisha.
- Initially, natural gas will reach Bhubaneswar in special containers which will be transported by road from Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.
- Later, natural gas will be supplied through the Jagdishpur– Haldia & Bokaro– Dhamra natural gas pipeline (JHBDPL).
