China has become the first country to introduce a fully electric cargo ship which is capable of travelling 80km with 2000-tonnes cargo after a two-hour charge.
- It is the first ship in the world to use lithium-ion battery
- The ship is powered by a 26-tonne lithium battery and it can cruise at the top speed of 12.8 km per hour.
- The ship is 70.5-metre-long ship and ur weighs about 600 tonnes.
- It was launched in Guangzhou in South China’s Guangdong Province.
- The vessel is manufactured by the Guangzhou Shipyard International Company Ltd
- The ship do not use fossil fuels and has zero emission, including carbon, sulphur and PM2.5
- It can be used as a passenger liner or a working ship
