In order to offer a centralised platform for collection and distribution of the Indian power sector information, Power Minister R K Singh launched National Power Portal.
- The portal is designed to enable power sector to capture online data from generation, transmission and distribution utilities in India.
- The portal will disseminate Power Sector Information related to operational, capacity, demand, supply, consumption etc. through various analysed reports, graphs, statistics for the generation, transmission and distribution at all India, region, state level for central, state and the private sector.
- The dashboard of NPP has been designed and developed to circulate analyzed information through GIS enabled navigation and visualization chart windows.
- The Dashboard will offer a single point interface for all Power Sector Apps launched previously by the Ministry, like TARANG, UJALA, VIDYUT PRAVAH, GARV, URJA, MERIT.
- 24x7 availability of the system ensures effective and timely collection of data.
- Data parameters and formats for seamless exchange of data between NPP and respective systems at utilities will be standardised using this portal
- The NPP would be a single point interface for all power sector apps launched previously by the power ministry
- The portal can be accessed at http://npp.gov.in.
