Gujarat is hosting the 25th edition of National Children Science Congress (NCSC) from December 27 to December 31, 2017.
The theme for this year's Nationa Science Congress is "Science, Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Development". The special focus area is on accessibility for persons with disabilities.
What is National Science Congress?
National Children Science Congress is a programme designed for the meritorious children of age group 10 to 17 years named as child scientists both from the formal and informal mode of education, along with eminent scientists and faculties of the country. The program was initiated in 1993 through the National Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCSTC), DST Govt of India.Objective of National Science Congress
- To provide a forum to the young scientists to pursue their natural curiosity and to quench their thirst for creativity by experimenting on open-ended problems;
- To make you feel that science is all around and you can gain knowledge as well as solve many problems also be relating the learning process to the physical and social environment of the neighborhood
- To stimulate scientific temperament and learning the scientific methodology for observation, collection of data, experiment analysis arriving at conclusions and presenting the findings
Highlights of 25th National Children Science Congress
- The conference is being held at Gujarat Science City, Ahmedabad.
- Gujarat Council on Science & Technology (GUJCOST) working under the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Gujarat will be the host organization.
- 800 Child Scientists and 200 escort Teachers from all districts of the country along with 50 students and teacher delegates from SAARC countries are estimated to attend the event.
