CIPAM Launches Competition for College Students

Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM), under the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), has launched a competition for college and university students to foster a culture of innovation and creativity in the youth.
  • The competition was launched in collaboration with Assocham and Ericsson India. 
  • For this competition named IPrism, the students need to submit films on piracy and counterfeiting under two categories of 30 and 60 seconds. There is a separate category for a mobile gaming app on intellectual property in this competition.
  • The winning teams will be awarded cash prizes worth Rs 4 lakh along with mementoes and certificates.
  • The competition would also provide the enthusiasts a unique opportunity to see their creations recognised on a national platform. 
  • This competition will give an opportunity to the young creators to get their creations recognized on a national platform.

National IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) Policy

  • The national IPR Policy was adopted on 12th May 2016 to create a vibrant intellectual property ecosystem in the country. The basic objective of this policy is to create awareness about intellectual property rights through outreach programmes and promotional activities. CIPAM (Cell for IPR Promotion and Management) is a professional body under the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) and it has been actively involved in many activities including a nationwide IPR awareness campaign.
