- The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has affiliated Chandigarh to have its own cricket team to play in BCCI tournament. Earlier, the Cricketers from Chandigarh were forced to represent Punjab or Haryana to be able to play at the national or international level, can now represent the city Chandigarh and play on its name.
