India’s First ‘private’ Train TEJAS Express

Current context: Indian Railways is going ahead of handover the Delhi-Lucknow Tejas Express, the first train to the private players

• Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is to be given the custody of the train
• The train is given on an experimental basis to the private players and will start running within 100 days
• The Tejas Express will offer premium services and comforts to the passengers
• Tejas express has facilities of onboard Wi-Fi facility, LCD entertainment-cum-information screens, modular toilets and smart windows, automatic doors etc
• The Tejas train is running between Mumbai and Goa since 2017
