- India is hosting the Regional Committee for the 2nd time.
- South-East Asia Region constitutes about one-fourth of the global population, and has set its priorities to eliminate measles, rubella control, NCD prevention, Reduce MMR, fight against antimicrobial resistance etc.
- The South-East region eradicated polio in 2014 and comes second to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus. Nepal has eliminated trachoma. Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Thailand have controlled Hepatitis B.
