  • A Bomb explosion occurred with an improvised explosive device (IED) near the car of Tazul Islam, a local Minister of Bangladesh on 31st August 2019.
  • The Google has honoured Indian novelist, essayist and poet Amrita Pritam with a Doodle on her 100th birth anniversary on 31st August 2019. She has written more than 28 novels and her autobiography named Kala Gulab. She is the 1st women to get the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1956 and was also honoured with the Jnanpith Award and the Padma Vibhushan.
  • LIC-owned IDBI Bank has launched home and auto loan product linked to the repo rate. The home loan lending will be offered up to Rs 75 lakh and Auto loan up to Rs 25 lakh for a tenure up to 35 years and 7 years respectively.
