  • Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has won the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize.
  • Due to poor performance by manufacturing, power generation and mining sectors, the Industrial output declined by 1.1 % in August. Also, the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) had expanded by 4.8 % in August 2018.
  • The first commercial flight from Hindon civil airport was launched by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat on 11th October 2019, to boost air connectivity between the border district and New Delhi. The flight service will be available six days a week except on Thursdays.

  • Segregation shed was inaugurated in Jammu and Kashmir under Solid-Liquid Waste Management Scheme of Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin. Under this, waste will be segregated for recycling to turn into a resource instead of being dumped or burnt.
  • The first National Hindi Science writer’s conference is started in Lucknow from 11th October and aims to promote use of Hindi and other Vernacular languages in science writing. The conference is being organised at Dr Shakuntala Mishra National rehabilitation university.
  • Chief Minister of Tripura, Biplab Kumar Deb inaugurated the ‘AngiKaar’ campaign with the objective to bring the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban (PMAY-U) under one fold of other central government implemented the scheme.
