  • India-ASEAN Track 1.5 Dialogue on Cyber Issues was inaugurated in New Delhi.
  • Birth Anniversary of the former President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam (known as the Missile Man of India) was observed on 15th October.
  • Due to falling prices of fuel and certain food articles, Wholesale inflation eased to 0.33 % (more than three-year low) in September 2019 which was 1.08% in August 2018 and 5.22% in September 2018. The previous low in WPI was seen in negative at 0.1% in June 2016.
  • RBI has raised the withdrawal limit for the third time for Punjab and Maharashtra Cooperative Bank or PMC Bank to Rs 40,000 from earlier Rs. 25,000. Due to massive under-reporting of dud loans, PMC Bank was placed under an RBI administrator on September 23 for six months.

  • India Men’s Cricket team captain Virat Kohli is two points away from dethroning Steve Smith (Australian Cricketer) as the No.1 Test batsman in the ICC rankings. Steve Smith is currently the No.1 batsman (with 937 points) while Virat Kohli has 936 points.
  • The International Cricket Council (ICC) has changed the “super over rule” through which England won their first-ever World Cup title by defeating New Zealand. As per the new rule, in case of a super over tie there will be a repeated super over until one team score more runs than the other.
