- The Def-connect was organised to showcase the accomplishments of the Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) initiative.

- Defence Innovation Organisation
- Nodal agencies (Indian Army, Navy, Airforce)

- The iDEX initiative was launched by the Government of India in 2018.
