- Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has unveiled India's first long-distance CNG bus fitted with CNG cylinders that will ply from Delhi to Dehradun and help reduce vehicular pollution. The project has been executed by Indraprastha Gas Limited.
- The Union Cabinet has approved the creation of the post of Chief of the Defence Staff, CDS that will be the rank of 4-Star General with a salary equivalent to Service Chiefs. The CDS will head the Department of Military Affairs to be created under the Ministry of Defence and will function as its Secretary.
- The 95th birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee is being observed on 25th Dec 19. He served as the Prime Minister of India for three times: 1) the first term only 13 days in 1996 2) the second term for a period of thirteen months from March 1998 to April 1999 3) a full term from 1999 to 2004.
- Hemant Soren will take oath as Chief Minister of Jharkhand on the 29th Dec 19. He has been formally elected for the chief ministerial by the JMM, Congress and RJD Alliance that gained a majority in the recently concluded Assembly polls.
- Manu Bhaker and Anish Bhanwala clinched gold medals at the 63rd National Shooting Championships in Bhopal. Manu Bhaker clinched four gold medals (individual and team events in senior and junior) in the women's 10-meter air pistol. Anish Bhanwala won the individual gold medal in the senior men's 25-meter rapid fire pistol event.
