- Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has announced that India has become the first country to digitise the entire process of Haj completely and signed the bilateral annual Haj 2020 agreement with Saudi Arabia.
- The Government has launched the 4th round of Regional Connectivity Scheme - UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) with special focus on North East Region, Hilly States, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Islands. The scheme was launched in October 2016 with the objective to revive existing airstrips and airports to provide connectivity to un-served and under-served regions.
- The first-ever North East Food Show was inaugurated in Meghalaya by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma. It will provide a platform for entrepreneurs of the North-East to meet and interact with National and global majors of the Food & Beverage Industry.
