Mission Indradhanush 2.0

Current context: The Government's flagship scheme Mission Indradhanush 2.0 has begun from 3rd Dec 19.

 

• The Intensified Mission Indradhanush 2.0 has been launched to focus on:

1. 272 districts of 27 states
2. 652 blocks of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar
3. Hard-to-reach and tribal populations

• The program aims to escalate efforts to achieve the goal of:

1. Attaining 90% national immunization coverage across India.
2. Prevent 8 diseases that includes Diphtheria, Whooping cough, Tetanus, Poliomyelitis, Tuberculosis, Measles, Meningitis and Hepatitis B.

• Highlights of Intensified Mission Indradhanush 2.0 are:

1. Its target is to immunize children under the age of 2 years and pregnant women.
2. The immunization drive under the Mission consists of four rounds of immunization, which would be completed by March 2020.
3. Focus on urban, underserved population and tribal areas.
4. Immunization session will include flexible timing, mobile session & mobilization by other departments.
5. Enhanced focus on left outs, dropouts, and resistant families.
