- The Summit was organised by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India and the Centre for Ganga River Basin Management and Studies (cGanga) led by IIT Kanpur from 5th-7th Dec 19.
- The Summit was focused on: a) Integrated Water Resource Management in rural and urban areas b) Restoring Ground Water levels and other water related issues.
- The objective of the summit was to bring together global financial investors and institutions to focus on water impact in smart cities.
- The Minister said India today is placed 3rd among countries with the highest number of large dams in the world.
- The Ministry of Jal Shakti released various reports including:
- ‘The Report on Ambassadors’ Meet held on 22ndAugust, 2019.
- Report on ‘River Restoration and Conservation – A Concise Manual and Guide'.
- Documents on “cGanga Hubs”.
