- M A Yusuff Ali, the Indian retail tycoon (chairman of the LuLu Group), has become the first Indian to receive Saudi Arabia's premium residency (informally known as Saudi Green Card). The permit grants expatriates the right to live, work and own business and property in the Kingdom without need for a sponsor.
- The Ministry of Commerce has announced to lift the curb on export of onions from 15th March 2020 in the interest of farmers. The government banned exports of onions on 29th September and imposed countrywide stock limits on onion to bring down prices.
- The World Health Organization Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has confirmed over 90,000 COVID-19 cases around the world till date.
- World Bank (WB) President David Malpass has announced that the WB has unveiled a 12 billion dollar aid package to provide fast-track funds to help countries combat the coronavirus outbreak.
- Indian-American health policy consultant Seema Verma has been appointed as one of the key members of the White House Coronavirus Task Force constituted by US President Donald Trump to combat the COVID-19. The task force is headed by Secretary, Health and Human Services Alex Azar.
