- The four day Poetry Festival has begun in Kolkata on 5th March 2020. The festival is being organized by the West Bengal Government and was inaugurated by the noted painter Jogen Chowdhury.
- The state government of Manipur has suspended the practice of Biometric Attendance of all state government offices to prevent the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus, as the virus may spread through hand contamination. The precautionary measure taken will continue for a month.
- The Chapchar Kut Festival is being celebrated across Mizoram from 6th March 2020. The Chapchar Kut is also regarded as the most popular spring festival to the people of the state and is celebrated with traditional bamboo dance Cheraw, and other dances.
- The 'Namaste Orchha' festival has started on 6th March 2020 in Orchha, Madhya Pradesh. The 3 days Namaste Orchha festival is an attempt to create new opportunities and initiatives to promote the state and its rich cultural with showcase of cultural landscape of Madhya Pradesh.
- The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board has recommended Mumbai to host the 2023 International Olympic Committee's session. India will host the IOC session after 37 years, once the proposal is ratified at the 136th IOC session.
