‘CovidGyan’----Launched by TIFR, IISc and TMC

Current Context: Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), and Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) has launched a website called ‘CovidGyan’ with the

main objective to create awareness among the public and bring in a holistic approach to understand COVID-19 and to motivate the community to provide the potential ways to mitigate it.

• This science-based website is basically a multi-institutional, multi-lingual science communication initiative which is launched to inculcate scientific as well factual aspects of COVID-19 pandemic outbreak among the community.
• More about CovidGyan:It is a hub to bring together a collection of resources in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. The resources are authentic and are generated by research institutions in India and several associated programs. The content covers a wide range of details about COVID-19 symptoms, exact behavior of the novel COVID-19,how it spreads from person to person, its diagnostics measure and the precaution measures to stop its spreading among the community.
• Many other partners including Vigyan Prasar, IndiaBioscience, and the Bangalore Life Science Cluster (BLiSc), which includes Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (InStem), Centre for Cellular And Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), and National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) have also joined the initiative.
• The website is designed with multi-faceted aspects to provide 'right information' which includes talks from eminent scientists in audio or podcast formats, infographics, posters, videos, FAQs and Mythbusters, and even links to scientific papers.
